I have had the ability to live and visit other places in the country. Texas, florida, arizona, california, ohio, new mexico. Out of a life of traveling my paternal family has always lived in forest grove. As a kid, I thought it was great to be able to walk around town and feel safe. As a teenager, I thought forest grove was boring, but still was safe walking the streets late at night. As an adult I see the greatness in this tiny town. The verry low violence crime rate, excellent resturaunts in close distance to home, featuring some verry paletable world cuisine. Theres middle eastern, thia, mexican and classic places like the 50s maltshop. For shopping, theres nothing high end, but theres the best goodwill ever. Its more like a community store. Everyone in town donates the things they dont use any more, so its far from a junk place. Its clean and organized with well taken care of items. I purchase designer and name brand labeled clothing there all the time as well as awesome home decoratives, dishes appliances ect. On the note of people, I have read that most of the people are whit supreemist meth trash. Well, I have seen people around town that could meet that description, but most people are kind, generouse welcoming people. I always thought of forest grove as a mini metropolis. theres a large mix of people, kinds and creeds. Just tge same with any small town, there are some racist jerks, but the cant get away with saying much in public. Pacific university is a central location with students from all over the place, so racial descrimination isnt exactly acceptable. Most people I know are knowledgable, greenwise, life embracing folks. Some areas in tiwn are less safe than others, as in any place. But having my own children, I feel this is one of the safest towns. The only time I really lock my door is when j go to bed. Ive never heard gunfire in my neighborhood and none of my neighbors gave ever been robbed. Its a quit quain slow little town. The night life is jyst small tiwn folks in the bars, its lacking in that are. But, there are great community events! Theres theater in the grove where you can catch some pretty awesome plays. Theres been headliners like Chicago and the Rocky Horror Picture Show. And vute stuff put onby local thespian kids. Forest grove is a place that upholds a sense of comminity. Out of everywhere else in the united states, im glad to live here. Were also close to the coast, about an hour. Close to the city by an hour give or take on transit, which is awesome to use as a resource for a night going out. close to the forest gor campin, close to lakes and rivers for boating snd fishing. Weve pretty much got it nade for a true oregpnian lifestule.
